Introducing Forest School Summer Holiday Camp!

19th May 2023

For anyone who has been to our fabulous, free, forest school activities on the Commons, you’ll be very familiar with the Kent High Weald Partnership (KHWP) who run the sessions. If the young people in your lives have caught the forest school bug, this blog by KHWP’s Countryside Education Officer, Saul Fajerman, will be perfect reading as he introduces their Summer Holiday Camp.

KHWP are a non profit conservation organisation based in Tunbridge Wells Borough, we are lucky enough to have a base at the iconic Bedgebury Pinetum, where we run Forest School activities for local schools and Forest School training for adults. We fully recognise the importance of Forest School and the benefits it brings to everyone, it has been specifically proven to improve children’s self esteem, confidence, emotional intelligence, resilience and independent learning. With our team of experienced staff, including two with teaching qualifications, we have been helping enhance the lives of children in the Tunbridge Wells area since 2012 and have been providing training since 2016.

We know that the long, school Summer holidays can be a challenge to keep little ones entertained, so why not consider our Holiday Camp? As part of our Forest School suit of activities we also offer a Forest School inspired Holiday Camp. The sessions run from 09:30 to 15:30 every Tuesday in the summer holidays: August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and consist of a full day of fun activities including fire lighting, whittling, crafts, nature play and much more.

The recommended age range is 7-12 years old but we are happy to take younger and older children by pre arrangement. You can drop your children off with us knowing they will have an enriching experience and come home very happy, tired, dirty and probably carrying a range of hand crafted objects.

Price for the day is £50 per child (this includes booking fees) and as a non profit organisation any money we make over and above our costs will go towards providing Forest School for children who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Spaces are limited for our sessions so don’t delay in booking here:
